Jan Siroky is responsible for managing IDC’s Central Europe region business unit – Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) excluding Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States – overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of the full range of IDC's operations and activities in 10 IDC offices located across the region.
Moreover, as vice president, consulting, he is also responsible for the development and management of IDC's consulting team and business, comprising advisory projects related to all technology segments and country markets in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEMA).
Siroky joined IDC in 2000 to manage and further develop IDC’s imaging and hardcopy device and document solutions research program in CEMA, which included the management, coordination, and business development of all research and consulting services associated with this technology area. Siroky was also later tasked to establish IDC’s user research program, which assists both external and internal clients with the collection and analysis of data on user attitudes and behavior.
Prior to joining IDC, Siroky worked with several large international companies, including Lufthansa subsidiary LSG/Sky Chefs. As a research assistant to the managing director, he produced feasibility studies that evaluated investment opportunities in the emerging markets of CEE and the former Soviet Union. He also worked as a finance analyst for Baltic International USA, Inc., in Houston, Texas.
Jan Siroky holds a master's degree in international trade from the University of Economics in Prague and an MBA from the DePaul University, Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, Chicago. In addition to his native Czech, Siroky speaks fluent English and conversational German and Russian.
